How we list vendors on United Vows

What we did, why we did it, and what you can do about it.

What we did

We aggregated public Google business listings and reviews for wedding vendors in Atlanta, Houston, and Austin who met our quality threshold (4+ star rating, 5+ reviews). For each, we created a default profile page on United Vows showing the public information that already appears on Google: business name, category, city, public reviews, public phone and email. Profiles are findable in our marketplace from day one, so couples have a populated vendor base to choose from.

Why we did it

A wedding marketplace is only useful to couples if there are actual vendors on it. Forcing every vendor to enroll before any couple can find them creates a chicken-and-egg problem that delays the platform's value to both sides for months. The public-data model lets us launch with real coverage while giving every vendor full control over their own listing the moment they claim it.

What we did not do

  • We did not use private contact information. Everything on your profile is from public sources you have already published.
  • We did not enroll you in anything. Your listing is passive until you claim it.
  • We did not capture your customers, your bookings, or any data outside what is publicly available on Google.
  • We did not put you on a paid plan, sign you up for a subscription, or take any payment info from you.

What you can do

  1. Claim your profile (recommended). Take ownership. Edit your photos, services, and prices. Respond to inquiries from couples directly. Apply for our Founding Vendor program before May 26 if interested. 60 seconds.
  2. Edit your data after claiming. Once claimed, every field is yours. Update business name, category, services, pricing, contact preferences. We do not lock anything down.
  3. Delist entirely. One click removes your profile and all associated data. We will not re-add you unless you ask us to. The link to delist is in every email we send you.
  4. Ask questions. Email founding@unitedvows.com. We respond within 24 hours.

Our commitments to vendors

  • We will never sell your contact information.
  • We will never use your data outside what serves you on our platform.
  • We will respect every delist request. One click. No friction.
  • We will be transparent about what we do, even when it is uncomfortable for us.

Questions we have anticipated

I never gave permission for this. Is that legal?

We use public Google business listings and reviews, which are public by design. Aggregating publicly available business information is legally established (similar to how Yelp, The Knot, and other directories operate). That said, legality is not the only standard we hold ourselves to. If you would rather not be listed, one click removes you. We respect that fully.

Will my listing receive inquiries even if I haven't claimed?

Yes. Couples can reach out and we will forward their inquiries to your public Google email and notify you by SMS at your listed number. The couple can also call you directly. After you claim, you control how couples reach you.

What about my couples seeing this on United Vows? Won't that confuse them?

Couples see a "Listed from public reviews" badge on your profile until you claim. That tells them you have not actively engaged with United Vows yet. Once you claim, the badge goes away and your full active profile takes over.

Can I claim later if I delist now?

Yes. Email founding@unitedvows.com. We will reactivate your listing within 24 hours.

How did you know I was a wedding vendor?

Public Google business categorization. If your Google business listing is categorized as a wedding-adjacent business in Atlanta, Houston, or Austin, and you have 4+ stars and 5+ reviews, we built a default profile.

Your call.

Claim, edit, or remove your listing. Whichever you choose, we respect it.
