Built from lived experience
We have been the couple. We have been the wedding professionals. United Vows grew from the challenges we experienced on both sides, and the tools we wished we had.
Our story, before the platform
My wife and I first experienced wedding planning as a couple. She planned our wedding, bringing together the details, the decoration and the people who would make the day happen. We also learned how hard it could be to see the whole budget while making one decision at a time.
When a friend later asked her to plan and decorate a wedding, that experience became the beginning of a business. She became a wedding decorator and event planner. I joined her as a wedding photographer, and brought my finance background to understanding the numbers behind our work.
On the vendor side, we faced another set of challenges: keeping track of inventory, coordinating events, pricing the hours and materials that went into each job, and finding clients. We experienced the frustration of paying for a marketplace that did not bring the results we had hoped for.
Those experiences stayed with us. Couples needed a clearer view of their plans. Vendors needed tools that respected the work behind every celebration. I started building United Vows to bring those needs together in one place.
That is why the planning tools are free for couples, why we publish our vendor terms plainly, and why we explain what each trust label means. We are early, and we have work ahead of us. But we know why we are here: we have stood on both sides.
Our vows to couples and vendors
Our experience shaped these commitments. Here is what they mean in practice.
Couples pay us nothing
Every planning tool on United Vows is free for couples. Vendors can list for free with no lead fees. Commission of 7-9% applies to payments couples make vendors through United Vows. Optional paid services and Stripe processing fees are separate.
Your vendor holds the money
Payments run through Stripe from you to your vendor, who is the merchant of record. United Vows never holds what you pay a vendor and never moves a vendor's money on its own judgment.
A badge that means one thing
The Verified badge means our team reviewed and approved that vendor's business documents. Listings we built from public Google information carry no badge and say so on the profile, so you always know which is which.
Claims on facts, not taste
If a booking goes wrong on one of six checkable grounds (a no-show, a late cancellation, nothing delivered, less delivered than the contract names, a duplicate charge or a missed delivery date), you can file a claim from the booking. The vendor has seven days to answer, and how they answer shapes their standing with us. Any refund is between you and your vendor: we don't hold your payment, rule on whose work was better, or guarantee an outcome.
Ratings come from real bookings
A United Vows rating is built only from reviews tied to a contract a couple actually signed and paid here. Guests can leave a note, and it is labeled Unverified and never moves the score.

What the product does
An assistant you can ask anything
Ask a question such as "what should I ask a photographer before booking?" and get help thinking through your next step. Confirm prices, availability and service details directly with the vendor.
A profile that is already there
If we listed your business from public information, claiming hands you that profile as it stands: every field editable, and the "Listed from public reviews" label comes off the moment it is yours.
