Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! United Vows is completely free for couples. We make money by charging vendors a small commission on bookings, allowing us to offer our planning tools to couples at no cost.

Couples pay their vendors directly and securely through Stripe, against a signed contract. If a vendor no-shows, cancels close to your wedding date, delivers nothing, charges you twice, or misses a delivery date the contract names, you can file a claim from your booking and the vendor has seven days to answer it. Ratings are built only from bookings that were really paid for.

No, and the listing tells you which is which. Many listings started as public business information we gathered so the marketplace would be useful on day one — those are not verified. A vendor becomes Verified after claiming their profile and submitting a document, such as a business license or proof of insurance, that our team reviews by hand; sending more documents raises the badge further up our published ladder. Look for the Verified badge, or switch on the verified-only filter when you browse.

Our vendor directory lists wedding professionals across the US. The planning tools work for any wedding, anywhere: Vows Assistant, your budget tracker, guest list, and wedding website are all free to use today, and vendors can join from any city.

Sign up for a vendor account, then paste your website and social links — we draft your profile from them in minutes. It's live from the moment you sign up, and every word is yours to edit.

For a business that hasn't claimed its listing yet, the paragraph under its name is compiled from that business's own public listing and website, then rewritten for consistent length and tone — no one at United Vows writes it, and it isn't the business's own words. The moment a business claims its profile, their own bio replaces it immediately. If something reads wrong before then, use the Report button on the listing to flag it.
