The Stone

The Stone is a New York-based not-for-profit performance initiative dedicated to experimental and avant-garde music, operating under the artistic direction of John Zorn. The venue books performers on a curatorial basis, with different artists curating monthly programming; all admission proceeds go directly to the performing musicians. The Stone was originally established by John Zorn at a Lower East Side location before moving to the New School Glass Box Theatre at 55 West 13th Street. Primary concerts run Tuesday through Saturday at the New School Glass Box Theatre in Manhattan, with additional programming at National Sawdust in Brooklyn and Russ and Daughters Cafe on Orchard Street.
