Wheaton Municipal Band

Wheaton Municipal Band is a Wheaton, Illinois concert band that performs a free weekly summer concert series at Memorial Park in downtown Wheaton. The 89-piece band, directed by Dr. Bruce Moss, rehearses and performs a new program each Thursday evening, drawing musicians from across the Chicagoland area who audition for spots in the ensemble. The band is entering its 97th season in 2026, with concerts representing a collaboration between the City of Wheaton, the Wheaton Park District, the WMB Board, and the Friends of the Wheaton Municipal Band. Based in Wheaton, Illinois, the band performs primarily at Memorial Park and has performed at Cantigny Park and the University of Illinois. Attendees describe the concerts as fun for all generations, with standing ovations reported and praise for the improved acoustics in the new band shell.
