Matthew Sowa Photography

Matthew Sowa Photography is a Manhattan-based wedding photography studio led by Matthew Sowa, who earned a degree from the Warsaw College of Photography and completed additional training at the Institute of Art Photography in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Matthew combines a documentary, photojournalistic approach with contemporary portraits in dramatic style, frequently using black-and-white compositions and working with a team that blends into the background to capture candid moments. Based in Manhattan for over a decade, Matthew has covered more than 800 weddings and is a member of the Professional Photographers of America since 2006 (PPA), NPPA, ISPWP, Fearless Photographers, and several other professional organizations; his work has been published in magazines including Rangefinder, Style Me Pretty, PDN, Southern Bride, and Zankyou, among many others. Matthew has photographed weddings throughout the United States, as well as South Asia, Scotland, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Antigua, Bermuda, and Mexico. Couples frequently note that Matthew and his team put them at ease in front of the camera, deliver photos that exceed expectations, and capture small unrepeatable moments including a Hamptons wedding couple who praised the fast delivery and distinctive artistic style.
