Founded by Mr. and Mrs. Dianda in 1962 with recipes from their hometown in Lucca, northern Italy, the bakery brings 56 years of baking experience; in 2003, three employees, Floyd, Luis, and Sergio, took over to continue the operation. Dianda's operates two locations: 2883 Mission Street in San Francisco and 117 De Anza Blvd in San Mateo. Reviews are mixed: some customers praise the cannoli, tres leches, and fresh pastries as satisfying and well-crafted, while others have found certain cakes dry or lacking in flavor.
