1886 Cafe & Bakery is a Victorian-style cafe and bakery located inside the historic Driskill Hotel on 6th Street in downtown Austin, serving baked goods and daytime American fare. The menu features fresh home-baked pastries, migas, huevos rancheros, a signature Texas-Shaped Waffle, the 1886 Burger, sandwiches, salads, and a reimagined 1886 Chocolate Cake, drawing on time-honored recipes including contributions from Neiman Marcus culinary director Helen Corbitt. The 1886 Cafe & Bakery opened on July 4, 2002, building on a lunchroom tradition founded by the Heritage Society that thrived for over 20 years. Located along 6th Street in downtown Austin, inside the Driskill Hotel, open daily from 6:30am to 3pm.
