Crystal Ballroom at Somerville Theatre is a live event venue in Davis Square, Somerville, available to rent for special occasions including wedding receptions. The renovated ballroom includes a bar, lounge, lobbies, restrooms, and a concert audio and lighting system, with a capacity of 500 patrons and options for standing room or seated configurations. The ballroom originated in 1914 as part of the Hobbs Building, hosted dances, weddings, and banquets for decades, closed in the 1980s, and was fully renovated and reopened following a renovation during the pandemic closure. Located at 55 Davis Square, Somerville, MA, near Boston. Reviewers note two large bars with fast service, a well-staffed and clean space, a large stage, general admission floor space, and a relaxed atmosphere; some note the absence of a coat check and folding chairs as drawbacks.
