Mariela's Music Time

Mariela's Music Time is a Berkeley-based bilingual music and movement program for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, led by Chilean-born performer and educator Mariela Herrera. Sessions feature live instruments including guitar, percussion, and zampona, with bilingual Spanish/English storytelling, ribbon dancing, and multicultural sounds drawn from South American folk traditions. Mariela has been building her career in the East Bay for more than fifteen years, drawing on a background in music and Early Childhood Education studies; she has worked with the San Francisco Symphony's Aim Program and as a bilingual storyteller in public libraries across California. Serves the Bay Area, including libraries, museums, cultural centers, private homes, and preschools, with bookings available for birthday parties, playgroup sessions, preschool visits, and cultural events. Parents and library programmers consistently highlight Mariela's bilingual repertoire, her ability to keep young children engaged throughout sessions, the literacy tips she shares with parents, and how naturally she weaves Spanish into the program.
