"Family-owned, certified-kosher bakery known for breads, custom cakes & pastries such as rugelach."

North Shore Kosher Bakery is a family-owned, certified-kosher bakery on Chicago's north side offering breads, custom cakes, and pastries. The bakery is known for challah, rye, and pita breads made in an authentic Israeli style, alongside custom decorated cakes, rugelach, gourmet cookies, and pastries; all products are dairy-free and made without preservatives, certified by the Chicago Rabbinical Council (CRC) as Yoshon and Pas Yisroel. Michael Benezra brought his baking background from Israel to Chicago in 1980, and he and his wife Tehiya took over North Shore Kosher Bakery from the previous owner in 1987. Located in the West Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago, with challah, rye, and pita breads also stocked at Jewel Food Stores, Mariano's, and various fruit markets. One couple described a smooth custom order process from an in-person consultation through pickup, noting the results were both visually on point and delicious.
