Studio5 is an intimate performing arts venue in Evanston bringing dance, music, theater, and film to Chicago's North Shore. Studio5 presents jazz, dance, spoken word, and film, with its Live at Studio5 jazz series featuring small-ensemble performances by Chicago jazz musicians, each including an onstage conversation with the artists about their craft. Co-founded in fall 2016 by Bea and Steve Rashid, who expanded Dance Center Evanston to include Studio5 as a performing arts venue; Bea Rashid has choreographed and directed theatrical productions for over 30 years and opened Dance Center Evanston in 1994, while Steve Rashid is an Emmy-winning composer with a Masters Degree in Music Composition from Northwestern University.
