Parkwest Strings

Parkwest Strings is a Chicago-based string ensemble offering live quartet, trio, and duo performances for weddings, ceremonies, cocktail hours, and corporate events. Led by violinist and artistic director Songhea Sackrider, the ensemble covers repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary, and will learn songs not on their standard list to accommodate custom requests. Songhea Sackrider holds degrees in Violin Performance from the University of Michigan and Northwestern University and has performed with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, Camerata Chicago, and the Chicago Arts Orchestra. Her string quartet arrangement of 'Dream On' by Aerosmith is performed internationally by The Rock Orchestra. Based in Chicago, serving Lincoln Park, the Gold Coast, the West Loop, River North, and surrounding North Shore communities. Couples highlight Songhea's clear communication and planning support, the ensemble's willingness to honor custom song requests including Indian repertoire, and the quality of the live string sound during ceremonies and cocktail hours.
