McGill Rose Garden

McGill Rose Garden is an outdoor garden wedding venue in Charlotte, located just outside of uptown on the edge of the NoDa Arts District, available for wedding ceremonies, receptions, proposals, micro weddings, and small parties. The garden features more than 500 rose bushes, a 34-ton coal hopper from the Seaboard Railroad Company, hidden paths, and an on-site coffee and wine shop (Rosie's Coffee and Wine) that serves as the event management company for all rentals. Helen McGill began planting rose bushes on the site in the 1950s; the garden opened to the public on Mother's Day 1967, became a City of Charlotte public park in 1976, and has hosted weddings and events for years. Rosie's Coffee and Wine has managed garden rentals since 2019. Located at 940 N Davidson St, Charlotte, NC 28205, near uptown Charlotte and the NoDa Arts District. The rental season runs from late April to early November. Visitors note the peaceful atmosphere, variety of roses and plant life, sculptures, seating areas, and the convenience of the adjacent coffee and wine shop. At least one reviewer observed a wedding taking place during a casual visit.
