The Evening Muse is a Charlotte-based intimate music venue hosting original independent music acts, comedians, poets, and performing artists in a listening room environment. The venue books original bands across a wide range of genres, including acoustic, Americana, blues, country, folk, hip-hop, jazz, pop, reggae, rock, and R&B, and hosts open mics every Monday as well as comedy shows; capacity is 120 with a full PA and sound engineer provided. The Evening Muse opened in April of 2001 and has presented thousands of original independent music acts from the Carolinas and performers from around the world; it holds multiple awards including Best Live Performance Venue 2022, 2020, and 2019 from Charlotte Magazine's BOB Awards, Best Venue from Queen City Nerve Critics' Pick, and Best Venue from Creative Loafing Best Of Charlotte Critics' Choice. Located in the NoDa Arts District in Historic North Charlotte at 3227 N. Davidson Street. Attendees frequently highlight the room's acoustics and sound system, the friendly and welcoming staff, the intimate atmosphere, and the consistent quality of acts across genres.
