Hoyt Arboretum is a 190-acre living museum of trees in Portland, operated through a partnership between Portland Parks & Recreation and the nonprofit Hoyt Arboretum Friends, with grounds available for weddings and site rentals. The arboretum holds over 6,000 trees representing 2,300 species from six continents, including three nationally accredited collections: conifers, maples, and magnolias, with 67 species listed as rare or endangered. The Redwood Observation Deck, accessed via the Bray Lane trailhead, is a noted wedding location within the park. Founded in 1928 to conserve endangered species and educate the community, with Hoyt Arboretum Friends supporting the site as a membership-based nonprofit since 1986.
