Divisi Strings is a Houston-based music entertainment company founded in 2006, offering live string ensembles, mobile DJs, and combined string-plus-DJ packages for weddings and events. Divisi Strings offers a wide range of ensemble configurations, from classic string duos and harp quintets to the Amp'd String Quartet (Houston's original pop quartet), Bollywood strings, and Collide (a combined string quartet and DJ format), plus solo DJ and DJ-and-MC services. Founded in 2006 by Shelli Mathews and Tony Sanville, both University of Houston music graduates, the company has grown from a single string quartet to a roster of 60-plus musicians drawn from programs including Juilliard, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and the Peabody Conservatory, with Tony joining management in 2007.
