Monte Vista Strings

Monte Vista Strings & Jazz is a San Antonio-based live music ensemble serving weddings, receptions, and events across the Austin-San Antonio-Texas Hill Country region. Founded in 2003 by violinist Andrew Small, the company offers a wide range of string, jazz, and complementary musical formats. MVSJ performs across multiple formats including string quartets, trios, and duos; jazz ensembles; classical guitar; harp; flute; piano; trumpet; vocalist/cantor; and mariachi, covering repertoire from Pachelbel and Mendelssohn to the Beatles, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, and Cole Porter. Founded in 2003, MVSJ is a multi-year recipient of bride's choice awards from both The Knot and Wedding Wire; its musicians hold advanced degrees from Juilliard, the New England Conservatory, and Curtis Institute of Music, and are tenured members of the San Antonio and Austin Symphony Orchestras. MVSJ performs regularly at venues across the Austin, San Antonio, and Texas Hill Country region, with a documented presence at dozens of venues including Canyon Springs Golf Club, Westin La Cantera Hotel and Resort, McNay Art Museum, and San Fernando Cathedral.
