Tuesday Musical Club

The Tuesday Musical Club is a San Antonio organization founded in 1901 that promotes the study and performance of classical music, operating as the oldest musical club for women in Texas. The Club hosts approximately 12 free public programs per year from September through May, including afternoon concerts and music-focused educational lectures followed by tea and sandwiches, plus an annual Young Artists Competition with $10,000 or more in cash prizes rotating among piano, voice, and strings. Founded in 1901 by Anna Hertzberg, the Club celebrated its 125th anniversary in January 2026 with a gala Founders' Day concert; its Young Artists Competition has been held each spring since 1956. Based in San Antonio, Texas, at a clubhouse inside historic Brackenridge Park adjacent to the Japanese Tea Garden, at 3755 North St. Mary's.
