Sugar Grove Estate

Sugar Grove Estate is an elegant estate wedding venue in Lake Wales, Central Florida, set across 45 acres of lush Florida landscape with a spring-fed lily pond, a flowering ceremony grove, and moss-draped oak trees. The venue features a new Montana Douglas Fir barn built by the Amish in 2022 with a 45-foot ceiling, an 8-foot crystal chandelier, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace with a cypress mantle over 2,500 years old, and capacity for 250 guests in the Grand Hall; in-house catering is led by Executive Chef Geronimo Aquino, a graduate of the Art Institute of NYC who has worked at Lakeland Yacht Club, Streamsong, and 1961. Owners Bill and Julia Whidden have been contributors in the event industry for over 25 years, designing and developing event decor used at major sporting events, award ceremonies, the White House, and Disney World; they designed and built Sugar Grove Estate in 2022. Located in Lake Wales, Central Florida, halfway between Orlando and Tampa airports, with access to private cottages on Lake Rosalie one mile away and partnerships with nearby hotels. Couples consistently praise the in-house food, the attentiveness of Bill, Gracie, and Kelsey, the day-of coordination, and the smooth execution of logistics from start to finish.
